My Approach

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling .
Psychosynthesis is a transpersonal psychotherapy, which views a person not only as a physical, intellectual and emotional being, but also as a spiritual one. It aims to harmonise all those aspects in our everyday lives. Psychosynthesis emphasises our creativity and imagination. It puts trust in our ability to grow through adversity, to transcend our ego and connect with something Greater than ourselves. Psychosynthesis therapy embraces such techniques as free drawings, spontaneous imagery, guided visualisation, symbols and dreams.

Although Psychosynthesis is my first and greatest love, where appropriate I also draw on other models of counselling – Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Systems and Existential Therapy. In my practice, I also employ Sand Tray Therapy, Mindfulness meditation and elements of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP).

I strongly believe in the healing value of playfulness and humour and I encourage such an attitude towards life in my clients.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.”
